RYA Powerboat Instructor

RYA Powerboat Pre Instructor Skills Assessment (PISA)

Before you can attend an RYA Powerboat Instructor course, you must first complete a Pre Instructor Skills Assessment

The assessment is to confirm you can helm a powerboat in a safe, controlled and confident manner, demonstrating all manoeuvres that ultimately you would be qualified to teach as a PBI. Additionally a check of your theory knowledge will also be conducted, related to any theory topics you would be expected to know/deliver as a PBI.

The assessment is designed to ensure time on the PBI course that follows, is spent learning about teaching techniques rather than teaching instructor candidates to helm power boats.

The assessment lasts a minimum of 4 hours, although maybe longer depending on the number of candidates attending, location, daylight availability and so on.

If you are interested in setting up a Pre Instructor Skills Assessment, or just want some further information, then Contact me to discuss further.
